Onboarding (5/6): Thermostat Install

  1. This video walks through how to complete the Thermostat Step on the installation checklist for RTUs, Split Units, and Unit Heaters.
  2. In the hardware box, you’ll find the junction box adapter with the cover plate, UWP mounting block, thermostat, and a room sensor with 2 batteries. 
  3. Remove the existing thermostat from the wall and replace it with this new one, starting with the Junction Box Adapter and the UWP. You can then attach the cover plate and place the thermostat on top of that.
  4. The thermostat will begin to ask a series of questions. Start by pressing Get Started.
    1. When it asks if the thermostat should be set up as Residential or Commercial, select Residential.
    2. Input a name for the room where the thermostat is located.
    3. Select No when asked if you have an EIM. 
    4. Select Internet for Outdoor Temperature
    5. Complete the questions based on the information of the unit.
    6. Select No Remote Setback for Occupancy Sensing
    7. Select Automatic for Changeover
    8. Many of these questions will remain as the Default setting…
    9. Select Yes for Adaptive Intelligent Recovery under Temperature Control
    10. Adjust the Minimum Cool Setpoint to 65F, Maximum can stay at 90F
    11. Again, many of these questions will remain as the Default setting….
  5. When you reach the Dealer Information page you can select Done and then select “Get Connected” on the WiFi screen.
  6. Scroll until you see a WiFi labelled Monaire. Select Connect and enter the password is Monaire23!
  7. Select Next. It may take some time for the WiFi to connect. This is normal.
  8. If you do not see Monaire WiFi right away, try going back and selecting “Get Connected” again. It can take some time to recognize the WiFi.
  9. Once you’re done, head to the Thermostat Information screen on the thermostat. All the way at the bottom, you will find a QR code. Scan this code into the Monaire app.
  10. Enter the area of installation and a photo of the thermostat location.
  11. Lastly, press Connect.
If necessary to install a remote room sensor, please proceed to the onboarding video for room sensor installations.
