This video explores changing cool/heat setpoints of a unit and understanding if this change is temporary.
It includes how to check a unit’s schedule to verify if a change is temporary or permanent, as well as explaining the threshold limits set on the thermostat itself.
Steps involved in temporarily changing temperature:
This is a tutorial on changing temperature temporarily, as opposed to permanently. To do so, navigate to the buildings tab and select which building has the equipment with the temperature you want to change.
Now, select an active unit, for example, an RTU. Here you will be presented with a virtual thermostat, where you can change the setpoints. For this example RTU, the temperature is 82 degrees but it is set to cool until it reaches 72 degrees.
Before manipulating this setpoint, you should make sure these changes will be temporary. Most of the time they will, as you should have a master schedule set up for a certain time period so the unit follows the same steps consistently. In order to check if these changes will be temporary, first go into the schedules tab.
The next step is to click on the three dots and select customize schedule. If the option labeled 'Use Reset Schedule' is selected, this will mean that any changes made to the RTU's setpoint will be temporary.
You can now exit and change the setpoint to your liking. Note that sometimes you can not raise or lower the setpoint below or above a certain threshold. In this case, you can not lower the setpoint below the 72 degree threshold since the thermostat has been configured to not allow cool to temperatures below 72F. Changing this threshold can only be done via the thermostat's installer options (on the thermostat display).
